NSW Premier, Gladys Berejiklian and Local Member, Andrew Constance, announced approval of a grant of $26M for an Arts and Swimming Centre at the former Batemans Bay Bowling Club site on Monday 26 March 2018.
The following morning, the pair accompanied by Eurobodalla Shire Mayor, Liz Innes visited the inclusive playground at Corrigans Reserve. They wanted to inspect the work to-date and to meet the committee of The Bay Push who had spearheaded the project. Committee members in attendance were Sharon Piert, Gary Kelly, Jenny Scullin and Charles Stuart.
A recent NSW Government grant of $75000 for a ‘Changing Place’ was discussed and the site for construction indicated.
A welcome visit was made by Kerryl Davie from the Batemans Bay High School Special Education Unit, who commented on the benefit of the playground’s sensory features to her students and mentioned that a visit to the playground is a regular feature of their curriculum.
